Manager of Engineering – New Equipment
I joined SEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) twenty years ago as a diesel mechanic in Bus maintenance and have progressed through the Bus, Rail and New Equipment Engineering departments. My career at SEPTA has been very rewarding, first in fulfilling my innate curiosity to understand ‘Engineering in motion’, that is, the mechanics behind machines and how to improve them.
What I like about my job are the tangible results, I get a sense of gratification knowing that I have made a contribution to the collective good of SEPTA and society.
In my spare time I enjoy fixing something or reading to uncover some new technology. My leisure goal is riding high-speed trains of the world.
The idea of knowledge sharing sits very well with me, as such, I contribute to Public Transportation’s knowledge pool through APTA, COMTO and TCRP. I also believe in providing career guidance and mentoring to aspiring high school and college students interested in the engineering field in particular and public transportation in general.
