Jacqueline Sheader (Jackie) was born and grew up in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, and eventually settled in State College where she moved to finish up her undergraduate career at the Pennsylvania State University. While at Penn State, she received Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Advertising/Public Relations and Psychology. Following graduation, she began a career at the Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA) in State College as the organization’s Marketing Manager, where she’s been for the past eleven years. She recently earned her Masters Degree in Business Administration from Saint Francis University and is currently working toward a second Masters, this time in Human Resource Management.
Jackie is a Faculty member at the University of Phoenix where she teaches public relations courses online at the undergraduate level. She is an active member of the Women’s Transportation Seminar Central Pennsylvania Chapter and the State College Sunrise Rotary Club. She currently serves on the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Marketing & Communications Committee and is a past-Chair of the Pennsylvania Public Transportation Association (PPTA) Marketing and Communications Committee. She is also a graduate of Leadership Centre County and actively volunteers with the Centre County United Way and other small nonprofits in the community.
Jackie lives in Boalsburg, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Scott, their three-year-old son, George, and their three Shih Tzus, Frank, Mr. Bean and Gizmo. She and Scott are also local business and commercial realty owners.
