The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is the nation's second largest public transit system. With over (20) years of experience in grass roots community development and outreach, Ms. Román currently oversees CTA’s community outreach strategies; is responsible for maintaining positive working relationships with elected officials, government officials and community stakeholders; and coordinating CTA’s participation at public events throughout the CTA service area.
 
Ms. Román is the President of the Chicago Chapter of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO); Co-Chair of The Taste of Clemente Fundraiser; Member of the 2nd Legislative District’s Health Fair Advisory Board and a Member of the State’s Attorney’s Office – Hispanic Advisory Board.
 
Ms. Román lives in the Logan Square community in Chicago with her daughter Angélika.
