India L. Birdsong is a service
planner for the Chicago Transit
Authority (CTA), specializing in the
coordination and development of CTA
bus and rail service for special
events. In addition to planning for
the CTA, Ms. Birdsong is an active
member of Conference of Minority
Transportation Officials (COMTO),
currently serving as Treasurer for the
organization’s Chicago Chapter. She
also serves as an Ambassador for the
Transit Cooperative Research Program
(TCRP), for the 2009-2011 term.
Prior to joining the CTA, Ms.
Birdsong worked within the
community/economic development field
while earning a graduate degree in
Urban Planning & Policy from the
University of Illinois at Chicago.
She holds a B.A. in English from
Temple University, and has employed
her editorial skills at several
technical and literary publications
throughout the Philadelphia region.

Transportation Research Board, and the Transit Development Corporation,
