Lisa J. Collins is a Service
Development Planner for the Delaware
Transit Corporation DTC). Her career
in transportation started in 1984
while serving in the United States
Marine Corps as a Motor Transport
Operator, later cross training into
Maintenance Management. She has held
positions of increasing responsibility
in various departments throughout her
career with DTC including,
maintenance, finance, customer
relations and scheduling, giving her a
multifaceted experience base.
Currently, she is challenged to plan
services for two counties and three
completely different service types in
the state of Delaware. One ten route
system in a small metropolitan city,
one very rural 3 route system in the
western half of the county and a Beach
Resort system of 8 routes on the
eastern coast of the county. Her
duties include system design,
analyzing existing services, reviewing
highway and subdivision plans,
assisting with the annual service
plan, ridership projection and
research, meeting with community
stakeholders and project management.
The spectrum of her territory really
diversifies her experience.
While at DTC, she earned an A.A.S. in
Industrial Engineering at Delaware
Technical Community College and a B.A.
in Organizational Management at
Wilmington University.
Lisa is married with two children and
she believes the best way overcome the
challenges we face is to learn from
each others successes and failures.
